Santa's Treasures

From 26 Oct to 30 Nov

Santa's Treasures

For some years now, we have been organizing a very special event during the holiday season: Santa’s Treasures! Over the course of a week, we transform our premises into a Christmas market for our users, women victims of violence who live in our region.

They can “shop” for Christmas gifts for their children and teenagers for free. And they too are given little treats. Each year, we make Christmas a little more joyful for more than 200 women and children! But to make this beautiful event a reality, we need you.

Donations of money, new toys for children or gifts for our women would be extremely helpful. In an ideal world, we would like to collect all donations before November 30th.

Wrapped in Courage Campaign

From 1st to 25 Nov

Wrapped in Courage Campaign

In previous years, Ontarians have participated in the campaign by purchasing purple scarves from their local VAW shelter to show support to the many brave women who face and have fled violence.

This year, the Wrapped in Courage campaign is adapting to our new reality and Ontarians are being asked to support the campaign!

Help us by texting COURAGE to 41010.
It's as simple as that!
You will then be able to donate 5$ to 25$.

Every donation will be distributed equally across participating Ontario VAW shelters.

The 16 Days of Activism...

From 25 to 10 Nov

The 16 Days of Activism...

The 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence is an international campaign that runs annually from November 25 (International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women) to December 10 (World Human Rights Day). The 16 Days are an opportunity to unite with partners around the world and reflect on what we can each do in our own communities and in our own lives to eliminate the disproportionate violence faced by women, girls and LGBTQ2 individuals.

The 16 Days also include Canada’s National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence against Women on December 6, in remembrance of the 14 young women who were brutally murdered at l'École Polytechnique de Montréal in a shocking act of gender-based violence.
